The Safety Features in the Buick Enclave

Buick models are known for their great ride quality and comfortable interiors. They are also designed to help keep you and your passengers safe. The Buick Enclave, for example, has many standard and available safety features, such as:
A Rearview Camera
Do you get nervous having to go in reverse? If you live in a neighborhood with a lot of kids or people riding bikes, you have to be extremely careful when backing up. Thanks to the rearview camera in the Buick Enclave, you will always have a very clear picture of everything behind you so you can drive more confidently.
Rear Parking Sensors
Parking is something else that can cause a lot of consternation, especially when backing into a spot or parallel parking. With the rear parking sensors on your car, you will know if you’re getting too close to another object, thanks to an audible alert.
Blind-Spot Monitoring
For great peace of mind when driving on multi-lane roads, available blind spot monitoring will keep track of any vehicle in the spots you can’t see with your mirrors. If you attempt to change lanes when you shouldn’t, you will get an alert.
Forward-Collision Warning
Also an optional feature, forward collision warning scans the road in front of you. If the system detects a collision, you will get a warning. And, if you don’t react in time, the brakes will be applied automatically.
Lane-Keep Assist
While it’s always important to keep your eyes on the road, your Buick Enclave will act like an extra set. If you drift inadvertently, you will get an alert and you will be guided you back into your lane thanks to this available feature.
To learn more about how these safety features work, come down to Nick Abraham Buick GMC near Elyria to take the Buick Enclave out for a test drive.
GMC Acadia Vs. Honda Pilot

Has your choice of mid-size SUV come down to the GMC Acadia or Honda Pilot? Well, you’re in luck, because we’re comparing these two models in three categories:
Off-Roading
One of the very nice things about the GMC Acadia is that in addition to performing beautifully on pavement, it also has very nice off-roading ability. If you go with the AT4 trim, you will get a 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out 310 horsepower. In addition, it comes with an off-road-tuned all-wheel drive system, as well as hill descent control. The Honda Pilot has no off-roading capabilities.
Tech
No matter where you go, the GMC Acadia will keep you connected and entertained throughout the journey. Every model comes with a very user-friendly infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen, as well as USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®. You will also get satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, and Bluetooth®. Upgrades include navigation, a rear-seat entertainment system, HD radio, and wireless device charging. The tech features in the Honda Pilot are severely lacking, as it doesn’t come with a touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, or satellite radio.
Safety
You’ll get several built-in safety components in the GMC Acadia. These include rear parking sensors, lane change alert, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and a rearview camera. The Teen Driver System is also included, and this lets you keep tabs on the habits of young drivers, as well as put restrictions on speed limits and stereo volume. Parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring aren’t standard features with the Honda Pilot and require an upgrade.
Ready to crown the GMC Acadia the winner? You can do that by coming down to Nick Abraham Buick GMC in Elyria.

2022 GMC Acadia
For 2022, the GMC Acadia will no longer offer the SL trim, as the SLE trim is now the base model. The other option is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that generates 310 horsepower. How Often Do I Need to Change My Oil?

Car ownership can be a little confusing, especially when it comes to maintenance. If it’s been a while since you had your car’s oil changed, for example, you may be wondering if you should schedule an oil change near you. Today, we’re answering some common questions about how often you should schedule oil changes for your Buick or GMC.
Is 3,000 Miles Still Applicable?
For years – and probably even decades – 3,000 miles was the golden number when it came to oil changes. However, as cars became more advanced, that number began to change. While you can certainly get your oil changed every 3,000 miles, you probably don’t need to. Thanks in large part to advancements in oil, it can now stay cleaner for longer. Every 5,000 miles is probably more accurate these days, and you may actually not need to change your oil until you hit the 10,000-mile mark. Consult you owner’s manual for more detailed information.
Mileage Isn’t Everything
Mileage isn’t the only thing to keep in mind when it comes to oil changes. Time is also a factor. Over the last year or so, there’s a good chance your driving habits changed and you weren’t behind the wheel as often. Hopefully, however, you kept up with your oil changes. Over time, oil degrades, even if your car is just sitting in your garage. This is why most mechanics advise drivers to get their oil changed twice per year regardless of how much driving they do.

Plus, whatever that number is, you can subtract if from the price of a new car or use it as a down payment, saving you even more money.

We all get attached to our cars, especially if we have had them for a long time. This could be why you’re feeling some reluctance about trading in your car. Busting 3 Myths about Buying Pre-Owned

Misinformation is rampant these days, especially when it comes to car-buying. Ever since pre-owned cars were first sold, buyers have developed myths about their reliability that simply aren’t true. Today, we’re taking a look at three of the most common myths about pre-owned Buick and GMC vehicles and why they shouldn’t be believed.
Myth #1: Pre-Owned Cars are Less Reliable
Many people balk at buying a pre-owned model because they think it won’t be reliable. These days, cars are built to last. As long as a vehicle is given the maintenance it needs, there’s no reason why it won’t be able to last for a very long time. Most cars can easily go past 100,000 miles, and many can make it up to 200,000 miles and beyond.
Myth #2: Pre-Owned Models Come with Unpleasant Surprises
It’s always a little risky not buying new, particularly when it’s a big purchase. But with a pre-owned or certified pre-owned car, you can always know what you are getting. When you look at the vehicle history report, you will get an excellent idea of how the car was cared for, as it includes service and repair information.
Myth #3: Pre-Owned Vehicles Don’t Come with Advanced Features
While it’s true that new cars come with state-of-the-art amenities, pre-owned vehicles rarely lack in this department. A car that is only a couple years old may still have an advanced infotainment touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, and innovative safety components, so you’re still getting the same premium features normally reserved for new models.
Want to take a look at some pre-owned cars in-person? Visit Nick Abraham Buick GMC and we’ll gladly give you all of the information you need to make a smart buying decision.
Four Questions to Ask When Buying a Used Car

Have you been searching for a used car near you but don’t know where to start? To help you stay informed, we’ve compiled a list of questions to ask when you find a used vehicle you love.
“Has this vehicle been well taken care of?
You always need to know where a used car has been. Has it been involved in any accidents? Did it receive regular maintenance? Are there any open recalls on the car? Here at Nick Abraham Buick GMC, we provide vehicle history reports for all of our used vehicles so you can know what they’ve been through.
“Has this vehicle been inspected?”
Even if a used car comes with a vehicle history report, it still helps to have a thorough inspection on record. At our service center, we always check to make sure the interior systems in our used cars are functioning properly. We also make sure there are no major dings or dents on our used cars, and if any maintenance is needed, we’re on top of that as well.
“What are my used car financing options?”
Even though used vehicles are more affordable, you aren’t expected to pay for them upfront. At our dealership, you can still get competitive financing options for a used model. That way, you can break down your loan into comfortable monthly payments.
“What about certified pre-owned vehicles?”
When you’re shopping for a used vehicle and want additional peace of mind, you may want to consider the perks associated with buying a certified pre-owned vehicle. Not only have these models undergone a 172-point inspection, but they also come with a:
12-month/12,000-mile extended new car bumper-to-bumper limited warranty
Six-year/100,000-mile extended powertrain limited warranty
CPO scheduled maintenance program
Our auto dealers in Elyria, OH are happy to answer any questions you may have about our used models. Our lot only features high-quality used vehicles, and when you visit us for a test drive, we’ll help you decide which is your favorite.
