Choosing SUVs: Buick Encore vs. Chevy Equinox
Choosing an SUV can feel like a big task to tackle, especially in a market where automakers seem to be adding more and more options to crossover segments every single year. Here at Nick Abraham Buick GMC, one of our most beloved and best-selling crossovers is the Buick Encore, but we’re aware that it lives in a segment with plenty of stiff competition. One such vehicle is the Chevy Equinox, another excellent crossover. Which is the best of the two? As your friendly neighborhood Buick dealership, we have our thoughts, but we thought we’d spell out why in a few key categories.
Why Customers Choose the Buick Encore
There are a few reasons why we’d recommend the Buick Encore over the Chevy Equinox, including:
1. Exterior Styling – The Buick Encore features a more athletic stance and attractive front fascia, giving it an edge in exterior styling.
2. All-Wheel Drive Options – The Buick Encore offers all-wheel drive as an option on all models, where the Chevy Equinox only offers it on their top trim level. Also, AWD on the Buick Encore can be deactivated for improved fuel-efficiency—a feature that isn’t available on the Chevy Equinox.
3. Interior Quality – The Buick Encore features premium leather seats and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, while the Chevy Equinox doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.
4. Warranty – The Buick Encore comes with a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty and a six-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty, while the Chevy Equinox offers a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Test-Driving a Buick Encore
If you want to see for yourself how these vehicles stack up, the best thing you can do is test-drive each of them. Of course, we think you’ll find that the Buick crossover is the best option, but you’ll only learn that for yourself if you take one for a spin!
